I’m still new to graphics/icon posting etiquette on Dreamwidth, but I noticed the prevalence of dedicated communities for certain types of content, so I made myself my own graphics comm;
grphxscream.
The first thing I did was obviously restructuring the journal layout with CSS grid and then writing a bunch of extra styling because I simply can’t help myself, lol.
It is a good sign at least that I can still find joy in playing with HTML and CSS like this. For a couple of months, I feared the burnout had completely killed my interest in all things webdev and I might even have to look for work in a new industry. But let’s not ruin the fun with talk of work and illness!
I’ve been trying out “portable” (inline CSS) gimmicky presentation styles for icon sets, like bingos and such. One is a grid styled like a bingo sheet and I thought I’d finished it when I realized that Dreamwidth doesn’t allow position: absolute; for inline styling. I do get why, but now I have to rethink my bingo layout idea.
However, that extra thinking made me realize the old layout doesn’t even work conceptually like I wanted it to, so… silver linings, I guess.

I've seen you've subscribed to my journal. If you're interested in the icons and fannish things I watch and rec, that's 100% it. If you're interested in my RL posts, let me know, and I'll give you access.

Date: 2025-09-12 12:23 (UTC)I like the previews you have at the bottom of your icon posts; that’s a sleek way of linking them beyond just the tag.
Frontend stuff only, though. Anything beyond SQL and PHP is foreign territory to me, haha. :D
Yes, if you don’t mind, I’d be interested in your RL entries, too. :)

Date: 2025-09-12 17:25 (UTC)I don't remember which iconmaker did it first, it was too long ago... but I liked the idea so much I picked it up from them.
I’d be interested in your RL entries, too. :)
Sure, I've granted you access!
Please read the sticky post at the top of my journal for a primer and some info I find important. Thank you! <3
